What if you have waited to find love only to be rejected when it finally comes?
Lenore Lapp is an Amish schoolteacher in her late twenties still living at home with her parents and grandparents. She thought love had passed her by until she meets Jesse Smucker, a widower with a baby daughter. She quickly falls in love with them both and accepts Jesse's proposal of marriage, but Jesse breaks off their engagement when he realizes he can't marry only for convenience.
Resigned to living single, Lenore throws herself into caring for her elders. While working in her grandmother's garden, she digs up an old jar. Will Lenore find healing for her broken heart and solve long-buried family secrets by reading the note contained inside?
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the Author/Publisher and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.
My Thoughts
When it comes to Amish Fiction, I have one author I turn to. She never fails to create stories filled with hope and love, and renewed faith. Her characters are always magnificently chiseled and they quickly steal your heart. That author is popularly known as Wanda Brunstetter.
I absolutely loved getting to see Lenore Lapp’s story! I have loved the previous two books but Lenore’s story just truly healed my soul. I loved being a part of the story once again, and following along while Lenore thinks she’s never going to find love. Enter Jesse Smucker and his sweet infant daughter, Cindy, and Lenore just may have found that love she wanted.
Let’s not forget the center of the story: The Healing Jar. It’s a mason jar filled with encouragement and scripture. Things that will help the characters through this novel. It’s the perfect ending to an absolutely captivating series!
If you want a novel that will pull you in to the heart of the story instantly, grab this 4 star story now. It’s filled with beautifully chiseled characters, and tender messages of forgiveness, hope, love, and understanding. From start to finish you’ll be lost among the pages and before you realize it, this amazing series will come to an end. I can’t wait to see what Brunstetter has in store for us next!
