Krista Galloway is not a fan of Christmas. After her rough childhood in multiple foster homes, the holiday season just brings too many bad memories to the surface. But when she accepts a job as a city manager in the mountain town of Winter Hill, Washington, Christmas is part of the deal. The small town is famous for its Christmasville celebration, something that the city manager . . . well, manages.

As she tries to make her tiny new apartment feel like home for her and her eight-year-old daughter, Emily, Krista begins to wonder if this move was a mistake. She doesn't always feel welcomed in the close-knit town, and Emily continually wonders, "Where's the snow?" Can a friendly stranger and his family help restore Krista's Christmas spirit before the big day?

Bestselling author Melody Carlson invites you to spend this holiday season in a town you'll never forget--and never want to leave.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the Author/Publisher, Revell and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.

My Thoughts
I am never met with a Melody Carlson book that I do not like. This one was not exception! I loved everything about this quick read. From the cover, to the characters, to the plot line, Carlson had me hooked, and didn’t let me go until the very last page was reached. I fell in love with Winter Hill, and it’s Christmas celebration, Christmasville, and I want to go there!
I loved these amazing characters! I’ll admit, though, I wasn’t one hundred percent a fan of Krista…..at first. I mean seriously. Who DOESN’T love Christmas and all it entails? Even with a childhood like hers, I can’t see not at least liking Christmas just a little. But, having gone through my own divorce and being a single mom at one point in my life, I can totally feel her frustrations from time to time. Carlson did a wonderful job of chiseling her out in a way that was needed to make this novella a beautiful one.
Let me tell you about Emily and Anna. Those sweet girls were absolutely perfect for their roles in this story. I fell in love with them instantly! And, let’s not forget Anna’s dad, Connor! I absolutely loved how Carlson created his character and loved watching him with Krista.
This is a 5 star story of a faith renewed, finding love in unexpected places and letting go of the pain of the past. My faith is renewed with this story, and I will continue to look forward to more Christmas novellas from this superbly talented author! Great job, Mrs. Carlson. Great job!
