…ten minutes to survive the past.

Skylar Haines has struggled with personal demons most of her life, going to dark extremes to subdue anxieties rooted in her tragic past. On a perpetual hunt for the next adrenaline hit, she discovers a passion for flying and becomes a hard-edged stunt pilot, verging on obsession. In the sky, following her most daring airshow, she encounters a mysterious storm and almost collides with another aircraft, sending her into a perilous dive. Guided by a mysterious voice, she manages a safe landing but finds herself transported to another time.

Eight months before she was born. One week before her father was murdered

Though baffled by her circumstances, Skylar soon arrives at a single certainty: Before her lies a remarkable chance to change her family's destiny drastically for the better -- or possibly even worse -- depending on the choices she makes, before her window of opportunity closes.

My Thoughts
An awesome read!! This is my first McFarren novel, and the twists and turns that are woven into this gripping thriller has left me wanting more from this highly talented author. I will definitely be reading more of her work. This book is filled with characters that are life-like, a plot line that will keep you up long into the night, turning page after page to find out what happens, and an ending that will have you thinking.
If you could go back in time and change the past, would you? I honestly can’t say yes or no to that question. Sometimes, I wish I could, but ultimately, I want to stay where I’m at because I wouldn’t have some of the things or the people in my life today. But, the way McFarren created this time traveling, psychologically twisting novel was genius. I was instantly hooked on Skylar’s story. I could feel her emotions, I traveled with her to her past, I was twisted up in ways I didn’t know I could be twisted up as the dramatic scenes unfolded.
If you are looking for a gripping, intense, wonderfully written 4 star novel to escape reality with, then look no further than this awesome novel by a superbly talented author. McFarren will take you high into the skies as you get mixed up in the breath taking, heart pounding suspense of Skylar’s past, and present. Don’t miss it!
