Sometimes the path to love is a long way to run...Olympic-caliber running hopeful Riley Dalton lost his left leg from the knee down in the noblest of ways: saving a trapped woman whose car was engulfed by fire. Years removed from that life-changing moment, he returns home to Dunberry, Michigan, searching for the pathway to a new life. Riley's high school sweetheart, Jennifer Bailey, understands the process of reinvention. Heartbreak and corporate theft sent her scampering from New York straight back to her small-town roots. In Dunberry, she's established a clothing boutique that allows creativity to flow while she regroups. Reunited, Riley and Jennifer spearhead the creation of a community sponsored running team while they chase demons both physical and emotional. As Riley trains for the Mobility Impaired division of the Boston Marathon, the past rises to haunt him, and a professional opportunity is presented to Jennifer that plays to her goals but endangers everything she's reestablished with the only man she's ever loved. Will love be enough to cover the distance between them?

My Thoughts
Marianne Evans is an author you do not want to miss! This is a story of longing, hope, redemption, and forgiveness, a story of second chances. She creates a tender and beautiful plot line that instantly pulled me to the heart of the story, and made me feel a true part of Riley and Jennifer’s lives.
I loved the way Ms. Evans created Riley and Jennifer’s characters. They truly came to life for me. Watching Riley deal with his injury, deal with his life, really twisted my heart up. I could feel his pain and emotions as if they were my own. And, Jennifer…..seeing how she was with Riley when they got back to their hometown, really had me tearing up. I loved that!
If you are looking for a story that will twist you up and make you feel all that the characters feel, then this beautifully chiseled novel of second chances and acceptance is just what you need. This is 4 star worthy in my opinion, and I can’t wait for another amazing story from this highly talented author. Bravo, Ms. Evans! Bravo.
