Imagine that your husband has two other wives.

You’ve never met the other wives. None of you know each other, and because of this unconventional arrangement, you can see your husband only one day a week. But you love him so much you don’t care. Or at least that’s what you’ve told yourself.

But one day, while you’re doing laundry, you find a scrap of paper in his pocket—an appointment reminder for a woman named Hannah, and you just know it’s another of the wives.

You thought you were fine with your arrangement, but you can’t help yourself: you track her down, and, under false pretenses, you strike up a friendship. Hannah has no idea who you really are. Then, Hannah starts showing up to your coffee dates with telltale bruises, and you realize she’s being abused by her husband. Who, of course, is also your husband. But you’ve never known him to be violent, ever.

Who exactly is your husband, and how far would you go to find the truth? Would you risk your own life?

And who is his mysterious third wife?

My Thoughts
How do I write this review? I want to tell you everything about this book, from the start to the ending. But, if I do that I will spoil the entire this for you, because I can’t not talk about this book. I can’t not tell you what I loved about it. I can’t not tell you every. Freaking. Amazing. Thing. That Tarryn Fisher put into this book. Tarryn Fisher is not your typical author. She’s been a favorite of mine since Colleen Hoover recommended her. Fisher is a unique author. She writes so much angst, so much hate, so much love into her stories, and you just can’t help but fall in love with her work.

The Wives is amazeballs. Seriously. I mean, how would YOU feel if you knew your husband was sharing his time with other women…..and they were married to him, just like you were, only clues were being left that maybe he isn’t who you thought he was? How does one do that? The psychological aspect to this story is phenomenally portrayed by Fisher’s writing. Her uncanny knack for creating a story that will rip your heart in two, and stitch it back together, all while making you go on one hell of a roller coaster ride, is impeccable.

This 4 star novel will have you on the edge of your seat. Each page turn will be a slap in the face. When you reach the end? Oh, just look out. You will not be expecting it and will close the book and immediately want more, while wondering how someone can write such a dark, thrilling, emotionally stressful read. But, if you’ve never read a Tarryn Fisher novel, you’ll fall in love with her work with this one….or maybe you won’t, I don’t know. For me, I love her dark side and find her books an escape. Unforgettable and incredibly written, The Wives needs to be at the top of your pre-order list today.
