Welcome to First Line Fridays. What is First Line Fridays?? It’s where we share the first line only of a book we are currently reading, or one that is on our shelves. This week’s first is from my current read, The Teacher’s Bride by Kathleen Fuller
Here is the first line:
About the Book:
Beloved and bestselling author of Amish romance Kathleen Fuller reminds us that sometimes opposites really do attract.
“A heartwarming story of unexpected romance woven with fun and engaging characters who come to life on every page.”–Amy Clipston, bestselling author of A Seat by the Hearth
If there is one thing Christian Ropp will not allow in his classroom—or his life—it is chaos. So why is he drawn to Ruby Glick, a woman who seems to bring mayhem wherever she goes?
Christian Ropp moves to Birch Creek to accept a teaching position in the rapidly growing Amish community. He’s determined to put the rambunctious school in order as well as check another task off his list: finding a wife. Of course, that would be much easier if women were like textbooks, straightforward and logical.
When an accident puts Christian out of commission, a new community member named Ruby Glick takes over his classroom. But Ruby’s exuberant teaching style clashes with Christian’s careful methods and he worries his students will never be the same.
With a track record of catastrophe, Ruby always feels too clumsy, too distracted, too . . . much. Desperate for a chance to prove that she can do more than make mistakes in her life, she throws herself into her new teaching position. But when Christian can’t seem to stay out of her way, she finds herself slipping into old, chaotic tendencies.
What she doesn’t anticipate is that Christian’s heart is slowly catching up with his mind—and she, too, must decide whether to follow logic or love.

On my blog today I’m sharing the first line from True Nobility by Lori Bates Wright but I have no extra line to share right now b/c I’m currently in-between books and getting ready to head out to Snow Camp with the youth group. Brrrrr! Hope you have a great weekend!
Stay warm!
My mom loves Amish fiction. I’ll have to pick this one up for her.
If she loves Amish fiction, she’s definitely gonna love this one! It’s so good so far!

Today on my blog, I’m sharing the first line from The Christmas Remedy by Cindy Woodsmall and Erin Woodsmall. It’s a sweet little book if you haven’t read it yet. I’m currently starting The Seamstress by Allison Pittman, so I’ll share the first line from this book.
“My first and last memories are my cousin Laurette.”
I’m very excited to read this book!
Hope you have a great weekend filled with awesome reading time. ❤
I did enjoy The Christmas Remedy. And The Seamstress sounds like one I would also enjoy. I’ll have to add it to my reading list. Thanks for coming by 🙂

My first line is from A Desperate Hope by Elizabeth Camden: “Alex Duval’s first hint of trouble was when Eloise failed to appear at their hideaway.”

Happy Weekend! My first line (well, first 2 lines) is from “Ellie’s Redemption” by Molly Jebber:
“Ellie Graber glanced at Joel Wenger across the room. Her heart raced, and her cheeks warmed.”
Aw…this one sounds really sweet. 🙂 On my blog, I’m sharing a book by the late Ruth Bell Graham called Prodigals and Those Who Love Them. Here, I will share a line from Chapter 5 of that book, which is Gigi Graham Tchividjian’s story. “At times the Lord had to gently remind me to deal with my son as He deals with His children: to keep the doors of communication always open, to accept the person, even when I could not accept his actions and conduct.” I wish you a warm and wonderful weekend!
Ohh, an Amish book! 🙂 I still haven’t read one before but have a few on my list. How are you liking it?
This sounds like a sweet book!
