ABOUT THE BOOK
Title: Cowboys of Summer
Authors: Mary Connealy, Lorna Seilstad, Cheryl St. John, Missy Tippens, Tina Radcliffe & Sherri Shackelford
Release Date: May 1, 2018
Genre: Sweet Contemporary Romance
As the summer weather sizzles, relax by the pool with stirring tales of handsome cowboys and the spirited ladies who wrangle them into romance. Six of Christian fiction’s most beloved authors join forces to bring you a collection of humorous, romantic and heartfelt novellas set against the sultry heat of summer.
In Mary Connealy’s, “Dr. Tess and the Cowboy”, sparks fly when Dr. Tessa Rhoades discovers dinosaur bones on Joe Holt’s ranch and decides to excavate—even if that means kicking Joe off his own land.
In “Hometown Girl” by Cheryl St.John, injured rodeo champion Justin Cooper returns to the sleepy Oklahoma town he escaped for fame and fortune–and takes his biggest tumble yet–straight into the arms of Stevie Marshall, his first love who soon has him questioning his life choices.
In Tina Radcliffe’s, “Lake Effect”, cynical cowboy Tucker Jackson knows he’s in trouble when he starts counting the days until the end of summer and praying ‘summer girl’ Jessica Richards will find a home for her heart in Paradise.
In “His Lone Star Heart” by Missy Tippens, rancher Zeb West tries hard not to fall for Beecher Brown, the feisty but off-limits sister of his best friend. As she tries to prove she’s capable of running her family’s ranch–the one he’s trying to buy–he might just find he’s met his match…for life.
Will Lorna Seilstad’s characters make “Great Strides” when Dana Etherton, the owner of a horse therapy ranch, must choose between the kids she serves and Adam Malone, the embezzler who’s been assigned to do community service there?
When Paige Monroe agrees to draw the press away from a country star’s wedding by pretending to be the look-alike bride, she wasn’t counting on having very real feeling for her decoy fiancé, Sterling Tanner. In Sherri Shackelford’s, “The Decoy Bride”, two people feigning love forget they’re acting.

Interview With Tina Radcliffe
Tell us about the first book you wrote. How long did it take to write and looking back is there something you would do differently?
Who is your inspiration in the author world?
Do you prefer print books or eBooks and why?
What was it like collaborating the Cowboys Of Summer Collection?
For anyone who is aspiring to become an author and is struggling, what is some advice you would give them? Any thoughts or fun things you’d like your fans to know?
Hi, Molly!
So delighted and honored to visit with you.
I wrote my first book at fourteen. My allowance went to makeup (Bonne Bell lip gloss) and bell bottoms, which left little for books. I became a total library hound. The library across from Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in Kenmore, NY was my hangout. Their romance selection for teens was limited to books from the forties and fifties so that’s what I read. The Beanie Malone Series by Lenora Mattingly Weber and the popular Tobey Heydon and Marcy Rhodes books by Rosemond Du Jardin. Those were the authors I emulated when I wrote my first book about teenagers in love. Even then, my writing was on the humorous side.
Like readers, I have too many inspirations to name just one. When I first really pursued writing as an adult, inspirational fiction wasn’t really available, I read as many sweet romances as I could find, specifically Debbie Macomber. Once the Love Inspired line launched I read and deconstructed Margaret Daley, Cynthia Rutledge, and Carol Steward. With four kids and a full-time RN job on the night shift, I read short romances, which led to writing short romances.
The ebook and print book dilemma. While my office overflows with print books, I own over one thousand ebooks that are accessible on my SurfacePro, desktop, Kindle, and phone. I travel once a month so those ebooks are very handy on my phone. I think there is a time and place for both.
The Cowboys of Summer Collection was like meeting with old friends over coffee and cake. It took over a year for this project to come together because getting six busy writers to coordinate schedules is frankly a miracle. The outcome is a fun collection with enough variety to please any reader.
The writing community is very generous with information, support, and prayer. There is so much available online, Google your questions, follow author blogs and check out their websites. Often, they have a tab with information for writers. Use your social media contacts to follow authors who teach and contact them with questions and concerns. If they can’t help you, they’ll point you in the right direction. Do join writer organizations and groups. Attend small local conferences and workshops at your local library. Get out and meet your tribe. Our writer cave isn’t nearly as lonely when we know that a writer friend is an email away.
Did you know I have a weakness for cookbooks? Especially gourmet cookbooks with beautiful illustrations, or those devoted to desserts. It takes every bit of willpower not to buy them and I often fail. This might not seem like a problem, but I really don’t cook. When I used to cook, it was meals on a budget for a family of six. I read cookbooks like I read novels. I savor them.
Molly, thank you again for inviting me into your online home. I do hope readers will visit the Cowboys of Summer Collection for a chance to escape to the delightful world of swoony cowboys and the heroines who claim their hearts.
