After fleeing Virginia, Temperance Tucker and her family established an inn along the Shawnee River. It's a welcome way station for settlers and frontiersmen traveling through the wild Cumberland region of Kentucke--men like Sion Morgan, a Virginia surveyor who arrives at the inn with his crew looking for an experienced guide. When his guide appears, Sion balks. He certainly didn't expect a woman. But it is not long before he must admit that Tempe's skill in the wilderness rivals his own. Still, the tenuous tie they are forming is put to the test as they encounter danger after danger and must rely on each other.
It’s been a long time since I sat down and read a Laura Frantz novel. When I saw this one available to read, I jumped on the chance. Something about the blurb of the book just called to me. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one but it was calling. I am quite pleased that I took the chance on it! It’s a book worth reading for sure.
A Moonbow Night takes us to Kentucky and introduces us to Tempe and Sion. The history that is woven, the attention to details so the reader feels a part of Tempe and Sion’s story, is absolutely incredible. I was instantly transported to Kentucky and felt the struggles, the attraction, the ways of the land as if I was truly there.
Ms. Frantz created a 5 star worthy novel and wove it with captivating scenes. The characters, the setting, the page turning ups and downs of this beautiful historical novel is one I highly recommend to all! Well done, Ms. Fratz.
