Samantha is a stranger in her own life. Until the night she disappeared with her best friend, Cassie, everyone said Sam had it all-popularity, wealth, and a dream boyfriend.
Sam has resurfaced, but she has no recollection of who she was or what happened to her that night. As she tries to piece together her life from before, she realizes it's one she no longer wants any part of. The old Sam took "mean girl" to a whole new level, and it's clear she and Cassie were more like best enemies. Sam is pretty sure that losing her memories is like winning the lottery. She's getting a second chance at being a better daughter, sister, and friend, and she's falling hard for Carson Ortiz, a boy who has always looked out for her-even if the old Sam treated him like trash.
But Cassie is still missing, and the facts about what happened to her that night isn't just buried deep inside of Sam's memory-someone else knows, someone who wants to make sure Sam stays quiet. All Sam wants is the truth, and if she can unlock her clouded memories of that fateful night, she can finally move on. But what if not remembering is the only thing keeping Sam alive?

My Thoughts:
I loved this book. After becoming hooked on Jennifer L. Armentrout’s work recently, I knew I couldn’t wait to dive into this one. I am so excited to have had the chance to do just that. I devoured this book. In like less than 24 hours. Seriously. I was hooked. Hooked, hooked, hooked. I didn’t want to look back on my time before reading this book. Because it’s an amazing novel. From start to finish. Yea. Reflecting……..
Mysterious and witty, this book is awesome. Everything about it is awesome. Everything. I mean, instantly, we get the mysteriousness. Sam’s character is amazing. From the first page, she doesn’t know what happened, where she is, or even who she is. That. Is. Awesome. From then on, Ms. Armentrout added roller coaster ride, after roller coaster ride of ups, downs, twists and turns. I smiled, I yelled, I did it all with this novel.
It was just that fabulous! Seriously, if you want a novel that will hook you instantly, characters that will wrap themselves around you so much that you become a part of them and the story, if you want an author who will make you fangirl over her work, then this. Is. It. This right here is why I love to read.
Ms. Armentrout, you are fabulous and hit it home again with this novel. I loved every second I spent devouring it and I can’t wait for the next book! Keep up the amazing 5 star worthy writing and throw us the next book!
I liked her book series “Lux”, but I after awhile I couldn’t get around all the times she used the Lord’s name in vain. Other than that I love the wit and chemistry of her books too. I have not read this one, but I hope she tones down the language.
