A killer’s deadly game needs new players . . . but someone’s about to change the rules

As a medical examiner, Serena Hopkins is used to dealing with death. But that doesn’t make it any easier when she’s called to the eerie scene of a murder–especially when Serena realizes that she knows the victim. Nearly as unnerving is the presence of FBI agent Dominic Allen, her childhood crush.

As evidence mounts and points to a serial killer with disturbingly familiar methods, Serena and Dominic must work to find a pattern and stop the killings before the murderer strikes again. And when Serena’s own life seems at stake, she must decide if the secret she has been keeping has put her next on the killer’s hit list. Can she trust Dominic with the truth before it’s too late?

My Review:
I’m a huge Lynette Eason fan. Read all three book in her first series and wow! She can really blow her readers away with the gripping intensity of her twists and turns. She mixes in fabulously created characters that come to life for the reader. Sadly, though, I missed book 1 in this new series. I don’t know how it happened, but it did. But, I didn’t let that stop me from diving into this second Deadly Reunion book. It’s easily read as a stand alone, though I will definitely be going back and reading book 1 followed by this book again so that I can capture the full essence of the series.

Serena Hopkins’ character was amazing! She was perfectly created for her role as an ME. She’s been a ME for some time now,and dead bodies are right up her alley. Until someone she knows turns up on her table for her to examine. I could feel her confusion and her turmoil over it as if I was standing there looking at the dead body myself. As each new body is brought in, her heart sinks further….someone is becoming a serial killer, and she may be next. And the worst part of the situation is, she’s having to work one on one with her high school love interest, Agent Dominic Allen.

FBI Agent Dominic Allen is one hot agent! I loved reading his side of the story. He’s determined to piece the puzzle together and find the person behind the killings. I loved his attitude and his strongness. When he works with Serena and sees all the bodies turning up and finding the clues of the who-done-it’s, it’s not just a battle of racing against time to find the killer. It’s a battle of racing against time to protect the woman that his heart is being lost to. As a bonus, she crushed on him in high school.

Can these two hearts work together to save each other…..and future victims? Or will the killer create another deadly reunion?

Reading this book and finding the answers to those questions and so much more, was exhilarating! Learning to let go, trust in God to lead the way, and following your heart are amazing depths in the plot line. Each page turn takes the reader further into the story, further into the anguish and turmoil of deadly serial killings. I loved that feeling. Once again, Ms. Eason has taken her readers on a rollercoaster 5 Book worthy novel ride, and kept them guessing til the last page. And the ending…well, I am absolutely dying to know what happens next! Can’t wait for book 3 to release and to go back and read book 1. Thank you, Ms. Eason, for your masterful talents!
