Irene Hannon is back with her conclusion to one of my absolute favorite Christian Suspense series. I really read this with a bittersweet frame of mind. I wanted to dive straight in and read it through to the end to find out what happens with the third Taylor sibling, but then I wanted to read it slow, make it last, savor the characters and intensity. But, with the superb skills of Ms. Hannon, I wasn’t able to read it slowly….it flew by and now I’m done and ready for another Hannon novel!
Kelly Warren is a wonderful, intense character. She’s perfectly chiseled for her role, and the fact that she perseveres in stating that her father didn’t commit suicide, is incredible. She truly had a back bone in that aspect. But, enter Cole Taylor and her world shifts a little more on it’s axis! Grateful for all the help he gives her in hunting down the truth, she’s also feeling something more. Something on a deeper level. Can she resist the attraction?
Detective Cole Taylor. I fell in love with him in the previous books. I just knew that Ms. Hannon would have something fabulous in mind for this charming, oh-so-handsome detective. I was right! I loved watching him dig into Kelly’s case. Having faith in her that she was telling the truth, and realizing there’s more to the story than what meets the eye, truly stood out for me. As he spends with Kelly, his feelings are growing into more than just a simple case of finding the pieces to the puzzle. It’s becoming so much more than that. Can he set aside his feelings long enough to protect Kelly? Or will the threats against her become a reality?
Again, Ms. Hannon has a knack for knowing just how much romance should be added in, and creating an intense, un-put-downable suspense novel. This book flew by way to fast for me! I had it finished in less than two days. With amazing messages of relying on God to show you the way, trusting in each other completely and finding true love along the way, this 5 Book worthy novel is high on my suspense recommendation list! Another job well done, Ms. Hannon! Bring on the next :).
