The one thing she can’t direct is her heart.
Tia Morales is used to calling the shots. She’s the director of the popular sitcom Stars Collide, and her life on the set is calculated and orderly. Well, most of the time. Life outside the studio is another matter. If only she could get other people to behave as well as her stars do! When she starts to have feelings for handsome cameraman Jason Harris–with whom she’s been butting heads for months–it’s enough to send a girl over the edge. Will she ever learn to let go and take life–and love–as it comes?

My Review:
This is a bittersweet review for me! Bitter because it’s the ending to a wonderfully written, laughable series that hooks you, and sweet because it’s filled with characters once again, new and old, that steal your heart and make you family. Janice Hanna Thompson, whether writing historical novels, or writing fun loving laugh-out-loud series, will sweep you off your feet with her unique writing style.
The Director’s Cut, book 3 in Thompson’s Backstage Pass, is once again a home run. Tia’s life is not so complicated behind the scenes of Stars Collide. As the director, she’s very much in charge of things. Even when she’s sparring with cameraman Jason Harris. She’s always there to help others out, always making sure they are taken care of. So, when she starts having these feelings for the witty, handsome camera guy, she’s not sure what to think of them.
Jason Harris has admired the beautiful director for awhile. They butt heads often and she’s always got to be the one in control, but just once he wants her to loosen up and trust in others to take the lead. Trouble is, he’s not sure if Tia will let him help her. She’s stubborn and witty but if she can just rely on God, things would be easier. For her….and for him and his feelings.
Watching these two amazing characters grow in their feelings was awesome! I loved the way Tia had to take to heart the things that Jason was showing her and telling her. Trusting in God to help your through in life isn’t always easy. Sometimes we all just want to be in control and make sure that things are perfect. That’s what Ms. Thompson wove into the pages of this incredible book!
With surprise visits from some amazing past characters, and some new ones making appearances, Ms. Thompson has once again created a wonderfully inspiring beyond 5 Books rating novel. It’s laugh-out-loud funny at times, and at others, it’s awe-inspiring, watching the characters rise. The ending for this series couldn’t have been better and I am so anxious to see what Ms. Thompson comes up with for us!
