Fearless, smoking hot and single: meet the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel. These firemen might be heroes, but it’s their bad luck in love that makes them legendary.
News producer Melissa McGuire and Fire Captain Harry Brody couldn’t be more different, though they do have one thing in common: they’re both convinced they’re perfectly wrong for each other.
But when Melissa’s matchmaking grandmother wins her a date with Brody at a bachelor auction… Sparks fly. Passion flares. Heat rises. (You get the picture.)
Add a curse, a conniving nightly news anchor, a stunningly handsome daredevil fireman, a brave little boy, a couple of exes, and one giant fire to the mix and Melissa and Brody’s love may not be the only thing that burns.

About The Author:
Jennifer Bernard is a graduate of Harvard and a former news promo producer. The child of academics, she confounded her family by preferring romance novels to … well, any other books. She left big city life for true love in Alaska, where she now lives with her husband and stepdaughters. She’s no stranger to book success, as she also writes erotic novellas under a naughty secret name only occasionally mentioned at family gatherings. Her first contemporary series, The Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel, is published by Avon Romance.

My Review:
Ok. So let’s see where I start with this review. First, I can go into the big long hoopla of oohs and aahhs of the book. But, I won’t do that. Instead I will tell you that if you’re a firemen lover and a romance lover, then you must get a copy of Jennifer Bernard’s first novel in her Bachelor Fireman series. There is so much awesomeness going on in the story that you can’t help but smile-and smile often-through out the story.
Melissa’s character, I will admit, I had a love/hate relationship with. I loved her to pieces through out most of the story but I ended up not like her in some of the spots, because, come one. Seriously? How can you not like a firemen? Sexy men in life saving gear? Oh yea! Bring. It. On. But, I didn’t mind that as it added the adventurous side to the story, yelling at Melissa to get it together and open her eyes. I loved the beginning of the story how Melissa’s grandmother set her up with the bachelor auction. What a surprise Nelly got when Melissa ended up on the date with the bachelor fireman……just not the one she had in mind!
I adored Captain Harry Brody! He was not only gorgeously sexy, he was super sweet and his personality was amazing. I could feel his turmoil over his past with his ex wife, and could see his hesitance with Melissa. But, it seemed like every time the two were around each other, there were sparks flying until I thought a fire would literally eat them alive!
With a few twists of jealousy, turns of a curse, a whirlwind investigation of a foster child, and one fiesty, unlovable News Anchor(you’ll have to read the story to see why I don’t like this character!), this is one romance story that I totally recommend with 5 Books! Ms. Bernard gives the ending a punch, leaving the reader wanting to know what happens next to the San Gabriel Batchelor Fireman! I am a forever fan of Ms. Bernard and am anxious to jump into Book 2, Hot For Fireman.
Great review! This book is already on my wishlist – like you said who doesn’t like hot firemen:)
