Adopted!

In the Deep South, one of the first questions asked when meeting someone new in a small town is, “Who’s your daddy?” The answer defines you as a person. Not knowing is disheartening.

Sara McLaughlin never knew she was adopted and is stunned to realize that if she wants to find out the questions burning in her brain as to the ‘why’ she was given up at birth, and who her father might be, she has to live in her birth mother’s apartment for the next six weeks.

Grant St. Romain, attorney, is supposed to be helping, but the hunky dimpled devil is making her mind think of other things.

Can she find the truth? Or will she break her heart trying to find out the answers in Boggy Bayou, where many secrets are hidden?

About The Author:
Pepper Phillips wrote her first play in the seventh grade. But before that she read every book in her age group at the small local library. An only child, she entertained herself in the worlds she created in her mind. She’s still pretty mindless in some respects, but her writing world is where she is the happiest. She ventured into self-publishing in 2011.

My Review:
Pepper Phillips has just gained a new fan!!! I loved this book. From start to finish you are grinning from ear to ear! Small town charm where everybody knows everybody knows everybody’s business. Characters that grip your heart and make you smile with their wittiness and make you a bit angry with their tempers, too! Boggy Bayou is a place I want to go and meet all these amazing characters!

Sara is adopted. Though it took her 27 years and two parents’ deaths (make that three parents’ deaths…..) to learn that. When she gets a letter from attorney Grant St. Romain, Sara packs a bag and heads to Boggy Bayou, Louisiana. What she learns when she gets there, well, her life is about to take on a new meaning in the small town!

Grant St. Romain. Totally adored him! His dimples were the highlight of the story! I loved it every time Sara mentioned them. I could picture them each time she described them. I loved how he grew in his character while he was helping Sara find out the truth about her birth parents. It was really funny at times. And watching him fall for Sara….well, that wasn’t supposed to happen in his mind, but when he did, it was so fun to see!

With a bit of mysterious southern charm, finding yourself and lots of great laughs, this book will hook you instantly. The way Ms. Phillips created the characters was awesome! Each page turn brought more laughs; there was never a dull moment in Boggy Bayou! The perfect blend of southern charm and laugh-out-loud wit, this is most definitely a 4 Book worthy story that I highly recommend to everyone. You’ll laugh and cheer the characters on, and one character, in particular, you’ll find that just don’t know if you want to hug them or strangle them! Fantastic job, Ms. Pepper, and I look forward to another wonderful chick-lit book just like this one-full of laughs and charm!
