Why have I never read a Jill Shalvis novel before???? Oh my God!!! I absolutely loved this book, and it’s the 4th in a series. I can say, though, that I was not confused in anyway with this being the 4th in her Lucky Harbor series. She created a fun and relaxing read with lively characters and a setting that makes you wish you could pack your bags and head to Lucky Harbor.
Mallory, an all around good-girl ER nurse, hasn’t found her Mr. Right. Content in her life to simply be a good friend, daughter and all around good girl, she meets with her friends, and during a terrible storm,saves the life of a sexy mysterious man. Taking advantage of a concussed bad boy, Mallory’s friends have him agree to be her Mr. Wrong date for a charity auction. Not thinking he will remember, Mallory leaves it go. Until the night of the auction. When she feels as though she’s stood up, she wants nothing more than to leave the auction and not host it. Until she sits down next to her Mr. Wrong.
Ty, the sexy mysterious SEAL (gotta love those sexy SEAL men!) Mr. Wrong, wants to see his beautiful bossy nurse again, but he’s agreed to this “date”. He doesn’t even know his dates name. When he gets to the auction, he recognizes the voice of his date as his nurse. Face to face with the beautiful nurse once again, Ty decides to find the time to spend with her.
But, both Mallory and Ty harbor secrets from their pasts. Ones that prevent them from fully grasping what’s in their future. Can they move past the pain and anger of the unlucky past to form something lucky, new and real in Lucky Harbor?
I love the combination that Jill Shalvis uses when she creates good girl Mallory and mysterious, sexy SEAL Ty. They blend beautifully together and their personalities compliment each other. I really didn’t want to say goodbye to Ty and Mallory when the book came to an end. I felt like I was right at home. With laughs, passion and friendship, Jill Shalvis has created a 5 Book worthy novel that is deserving of high recommendations! I can’t wait to go back and read the first 3 books in the series, as well as, looking forward to the next novels in Lucky Harbor series! Fantastic job, Ms. Shalvis!
I absolutely love Jill Shalvis and all of her books! The Lucky Harbor series is fantastic and I have this book on my bedside table to read next. Great review
