Remember the Titanic 100 years after its doomed voyage with Tricia Goyer’s fictional portrayal of one woman’s journey. To Amelia Gladstone, this ship means promise of seeing family again. To Quentin Walpole, the Titanic represents a new start in America…if he can get onboard. All seems lost until Amelia offers him a ticket, securing his passage—and bringing him face-to-face with his railroad tycoon father and older brother, Damian. As Amelia works to reconcile father and son, she finds herself the object of both brothers’ affection. Can she choose between two brothers? Or will she lose everything to the icy waters of the Atlantic?

My Review:
What an absolutely PERFECT way to celebrate the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking. While it was such a tragedy that happened, books like this are wonderful! Tricia Goyer is already one of my many favorite Christian Fiction authors, and this book is a wonderful addition to her historical novels!
By The Light Of The Silvery Moon….I just LOVE that title. But, I loved the story even more! Sweet Amelia Gladstone has a heart of gold, and when her cousin, Henry, is unable to travel aboard the Titanic because he was in jail, she puts his ticket to good use. She sees a man that is escorted off the Titanic before it sets sail, and has a bit of sympathy for him, so she hands over the ticket.
Quentin Walpole is a beggar and lives on the streets. He’s surprised to find that the beautiful lady has a heart of gold for him. Quickly dubbing her his Angel of Mercy, he takes the ticket and masquerades around the Titanic as Henry Gladstone. But, he harbors a secret…..and he doesn’t want to be found out. Especially by two very popular men.
Charles and Damian Walpole are aboard the Titanic setting sail back to America. Charles is on the look out for his youngest son Quentin, and Damian blames that young son on the death of their mother. He is trying to get his father to understand and not let him know that he’s been paying people to NOT give him the information. Then Damian and Charles encounter the beautiful Miss Abigail. She knows of Quentin, but just how much? And why can’t Damian seem to get the lower class woman out of his mind?
Amelia meets Damian, but her thoughts keep turning to Quentin, the handsome stranger she gave her cousin’s ticket to. Will she be able to have a happy ever after based on love, and not on letters from the gentleman in America? Or will the tragic sinking of the Titanic take away the only chance she has at happiness? Can Quentin and his brother and father work past the tragic death of their mother?
I’ll stop there, for I’ll give spoilers if I don’t. With twists, turns and second chances, this story is filled with so much hope and love. It’s a perfect addition for the celebration of the Titanic, and being a fan of the movie Titanic, this most definitely reminded me of that movie, complete with the mention of the Titanic designer, Thomas Andrews! Absolutely a 5 Book worthy rating to a wonderfully written book. Forgiveness, trusting in God and moving on from the past make up the inner workings of this new book by this truly talented author and I can’t wait to read another book like it! Well done, Ms. Goyer!!
