Shirlene Dalton has it all: a dream marriage to a man who spoils her rotten and the most outrageous mansion Bramble, Texas, has ever seen. But when her husband unexpectedly dies, Shirlene finds herself right back where she started-in a rundown trailer on the wrong side of the tracks. Never the type to let a little bad luck and a whole heap of heartache get her down, Shirlene is ready to prove to the local gossips she can make it on her own . . . until she ends up living next door to the most tempting cowboy in town.
Billy Wilkes has a score to settle and a plan to wipe Bramble right off the map. But when his sexy, redheaded neighbor figures out what he’s up to, his good ol’ boy charm won’t be enough to save him. With the town on his tail, Billy will have to come clean quick-or kiss Shirlene goodbye.

About The Author:
So here’s the thing. I love to write about fictional people, but I feel very uncomfortable writing about myself. So let’s dispense with the biography and I’ll tell you a story. And everyone knows that all the best stories start with . . .
Once upon a time there was a little girl who walked around with her head in the clouds. While the other kids paid attention to the world around them, this little girl (For clarity’s sake, let’s just call her Katie.) spent her days dreaming. The dreams varied. One day Katie might be a princess who was rescued by a prince on a three-legged horse (Perfection can be so boring.), and the next day she might find herself as an overworked mother of ten. (Mothers are wonderful heroines, don’t you agree?) This playacting was acceptable when Katie was little, but as she grew older, people started to take notice and think her a little odd. (Odd? What’s odd about a tall, skinny seventh grader pushing an overfilled doll stroller down the street?)
Luckily for her social standing, Katie gave up the play-stage for the written-page, spending hours writing down her daydreams in a spiral notebook. But over the years, her storytelling took a backseat to hormones and high school, and it wasn’t until her two exceptional daughters were grown (Ten seemed a little redundant after the first labor pain) that she returned to writing.
Now Katie spends her days at a computer daydreaming, while the rest of the time she enjoys hanging with her family, reading, going to the gym, playing golf, motorcycle riding, traveling, or just snuggling next to her snoring prince. (Snoring might seem like a minor imperfection when compared to a three-legged horse, but believe me it’s not) Because if the little girl of the clouds learned anything over the years, it was that every moment in life is a happily-ever-after just waiting to be fulfilled.

My Review:
Can we get another yeehaw, cowboy, please?! Oh my. This one was just a fantastic as RC Ryan’s book, and another one that I’m adding to my Western bookshelf. Again, Ms. Lane’s work is incredible, filled with complex and intriguing characters, and the plot will sweep you off your feet and land you in the heart of Texas. I’m gonna warn you though…..if you read this, hand on to your boots, your hat, your seat-basically, anything you can grab onto-for Bubba and Shirlene will take you on a whirlwind ride!
Talk about coming around full circle, bless Shirlene’s heart. Growing up in a mobile home, then marrying into money. Now, she’s suddenly left a widow and moves back home to Bramble Texas. Full circle: living in a mobile home, once again. But, seriously? That’s not really the problem. The first problem: orphans living in her trailer. The second problem: her rough and rowdy, redneck cowboy neighbor, Bubba Wilkes. Sure he’s handsome, but that’s not good enough, is it? Could she really fall in love with a redneck?
Bubba has some secrets, one that will turn Shirlene and the town of Bramble to shreds if they knew what it was. But, as Bubba comes to know his beautiful new neighbor, and sees her with the orphans, well, he’s just not so sure those secrets should come out.
I loved the way Ms. Lane blended Bubba and Shirlene’s stories. Both harbored secrets, both knew what they wanted. But, in the end, love prevails all and brought two broken down people to the top, making them the wealthiest of all. This book is filled with romance, second chances, true love and secrets. Best of all, this book is filled with hunky cowboys, and sweet heroines: the perfect cowboy romance combination. This book is perfect for all who love sexiness and southern drawls. I highly recommend this book with a high flying 5 Book rating, and while part of a series, Ms. Lane does a wonderful job of keeping the reader in place with the events of the past, so it’s easily read as a stand alone. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for Ms. Lane’s fans with her next cowboy story!
Hi y’all! I just wanted to stop by to wish everyone luck in the giveaway. I had so much fun writing Catch Me a Cowboy. I hope you have as much fun reading it. And thanks, Molly (my granddaughter’s favorite play character name), for the wonderful post and review. I’m one of those insecure writers so you made my day.
I have the first two books in this series and they were awesome. Can’t wait to read about Shirlene loosing her husband and how she copes having to move back into the trailer. Congrats on the book.
