Beth Brown doesn’t believe in premonitions until she dreams a sexy stranger is gunned down during the brutal hijacking of a commercial airliner. When events in her dream start coming true, she heads to the flight’s departure gate. To her shock, she recognizes the man she’d watched die the night before.

Lieutenant Commander Zane Winters comes from a bloodline of elite warriors with psychic abilities. When Zane and two of his platoon buddies arrive at Sea-Tac Airport, he has a vision of his teammates’ corpses. Then she arrives—a leggy blonde who sets off a different kind of alarm.

As Beth teams up with Zane, they discover the hijacking is the first step in a secret cartel’s deadly global agenda and that key personnel within the FBI are compromised. To survive the forces mobilizing against them, Beth will need to open herself to a psychic connection with the sexy SEAL who claims to be her soul mate.

About The Author:
Trish McCallan has been writing for as long as she can remember.

In grade school she wrote children’s stories, illustrating them with crayons and binding the sheets together with pencil-punched holes and red yarn. She used to sell these masterpieces at her lemonade stand for a nickel a book. Surprisingly, people actually bought them. Like, all of them. Every night she would have to write a new batch for her basket.

As she got older her interest changed to boys and horses. The focus of her literary masterpieces followed this shift. Her first full length novel was written in seventh grade and featured a girl, a horse and a boy. At the end of the book the teenage heroine rode off into the sunset . . . with the horse.

These days she sticks to romantic suspense with hot alpha heroes and roller-coaster plots. Since she is a fan of all things bizarre, paranormal elements always seem to find a way into her fiction. Her current release, Forged in Fire, was the result of a Black Dagger Brotherhood reading binge, a cold, a bottle of NyQuil and a vivid dream.

Forged in Fire’s heroine, Beth Brown—on dating the alpha male.

I’ve been an avid romance reader for years. In fact, my best friend Ginny claims I used romance novels to avoid real life romantic relationships, which is a bunch of crock and something I heartily deny. I dated plenty of guys before Zane. I did NOT hide in the pages of my romance novels, no matter what Ginny says.

But enough about that, as I was saying, I have been an avid romance reader for years and I’ve read everything from historical romances to paranormal romances, but my favorites usually combines romance with suspense. I have quite a library and it’s filled with books by Linda Howard, Suzanne Brockman, Christy Reece, Kaylea Cross, Pamela Clare, Kylie Brant, and Cherry Adair. But these authors have more in common than the suspense to romance ratio. They also excelled at writing those sexy alpha heroes. I admit, I used to LOVE reading about those hot alpha males. I mean heroes like Linda Howard’s Mackenzies . . . yum . . .yum . . . yum. . . .

But I’m here to tell you that dating a sexy alpha hero isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Okay, the sexy part if great, and Zane is the epitome of sexy—but the possessive alpha part, yeah- that can be a serious pain in the butt. Do you know Zane actually growled when his buddy Alex Trammel squeezed my hand the first time we were introduced? I mean seriously, the guy was just being friendly and he’s Zane’s friend, not mine. And Zane actually growled and knocked Alex’s hand away. Which would be funny, if it wasn’t so damn annoying, because now all his teammates spend way too much time flirting with me in an effort to get Zane’s goat. And Zane knows why they’re doing it, but he still gets all possessive and growly anyway. It’s ridiculous, it’s not like he’s a vampire warrior from the Black Dagger Brotherhood—which I cannot get him to read by the way—he’s human, he’s a SEAL for God’s sake. So where’s that purported SEAL control????

And then there’s the money he keeps shelling out for things that don’t need fixing. Like the tires on my car. They were perfectly fine tires! Barely a year old. But they were retreads, and they weren’t siped, so what does he do? He takes the car down to Les Schwab while I was at work and replaced all four tires with expensive, brand-new siped ones. For maximum traction he said. I’m pretty sure he had them fix the brakes too, because there used to be this itty-bitty squeal when I hit the pedal—which I’ve been meaning to get fixed—but now, yeah, it doesn’t make any noise at all.
I swear, he’s got some weird fixation with my car. Because not only did he replace the tires, but he replaced the windshield wipers too and applied something to the windshield that supposed to keep it clear during a rain or snow storm.

I know he just wants to keep me safe, but good lord, he’s bad enough now, God help me when he finds out I’m pregnant. He’ll probably roll me in bubble wrap and lock me in the closet for the next seven months. . . whoops, gotta go, Zane’s home!

My Review:

Okay, so honestly, I’m still working on finishing up this book. Had a bit of an issue to deal with, and I got behind on getting it read. BUT, with that being said, I’m going to tell you that I am almost done with it and it is AWESOME!!! Ms. McCallan made this book absolutely, completely captivating! From page one she brings the reader suspense, and keeps them hooked throughout. I’m still trying to figure out the whys and the whos of the plot line!

Zane Winters’ character is TO DIE FOR. Oh. My. God. He’s not only super, super sexy, he’s the alpha hero of alpha heroes. Oh. My. God. (Yes-I just did say that twice.) He’s psychic ability lends just the perfect amount of paranormal aspect to the story and makes for a fabulous read! His instant attraction to the beautiful Beth Brown, is powerful. Watching him with his fellow comrades and then with Beth…well, he’s just a character I want to have in real life!

Beth Brown. She’s such a sweet character! I loved the way she jumped right into protective mode with she realized who Zane, Cosky and Rawls were. The visions she has are more thorough than Zane’s. Her main goal…..to save the men on the plane that’s about to take off. Little did she know that Zane is her soul mate…..

I am absolutely loving the way this story is playing out. The suspense is so intense, and each page turn is bringing something new. The passion between Zane and Beth….OUTSTANDING! I definitely am glad to be able to read this! I can’t wait to reach the last page to see what happens in the end. 🙂

If you are looking for a good romance novel that has the perfect amount of suspense and paranormal elements, then I recommend you look no further than this incredibly written, fabtastic 5 Book worthy novel. You’ll be swept away with a great cast of characters who will work their way into your heart and plant roots! I am absolutely looking forward to seeing what Ms. McCallan is going to have in store for her readers with Cosky and Rawls stories…hint, hint, Ms. McCallan!
