And he’s back! 🙂 I love visitors here at Reviews By Molly and Joel M. Andre is one of the best authors around so it’s ALWAYS a treat! This time, he’s back with an interview on book marketing. This should be excellent for my author friends. Let’s see what he has to say….

Welcome back to Reviews By Molly, Joel 🙂
Thank you for having me. This means a lot to me.

Tell us about the marketing of the books. What goes into that?
Well, marketing for books takes quite a bit of time. The goal is to get the information out there in front of enough people that they take some interest in your books.

This is done through advertising on websites, banner ads and a number of other advertising tools as well.

Is it easier to sell print books or eBooks?
I think it is easier to sell eBooks. Since you don’t have the printing fees attached to them, you can offer them at a reasonable cost. More importantly, I think more people are turning to eBook readers for a majority of their books since they do take up less space.

What is the social networking like when you’re trying to promote your books? Do you find it a high success?
My approach to social networking promotion is minimal. I know people who hock their stuff all day, every day. I try to keep my accounts very personal and will occasionally mention stuff as it comes up.

Do your short stories sell more, or your novels?
Well, many of my short stories sell more than some of my titles. Of the 20 works I have out there my top 5 sellers tend to be:

1. A Death at the North Pole
2. Brutal 3. Perfection
4. Kill 4 Me
5. Pentacle of Light Series

When you’re not writing, marketing or promoting your books, you write articles for needanarticle.com. What exactly is that and do authors use that service?
We have some authors who order content through our services. Essentially, the writers on our website create content for other websites. Say you have a blog on coin collecting. We could create the content for specific coins and even help you to create regular posts as well. The goal there is to help website owners to get the content they need to stay up I their ranks.

What are the benefits of needanarticle.com?
Well, you can hire me to write content for you. Essentially, we have a great team of professionals that can help to give you a boost in your rankings. This can be done with SEO content, articles that are more content driven, backlinks and a variety of other projects as well.

Does it help with book promotions??
Having the right content on your website can help you to expand your reach. It will connect you with a new audience that may know nothing else about you.

Anything else you’d like to say to the readers here today?
Just that I hope they pick up a book and take the journey the author has created for them.

AWESOME! Thanks Joel!

Joel M. Andre, Author

About Joel M. Andre:
Joel M. Andre was born January 13, 1981. At a young age he was fascinated with the written word. It was at fourteen that Poe blew his mind, and Andre began to dabble with darker poetry.

Between the years of 1999 and 2007 Joel was featured in various poetry anthologies and publications. In 2008 he released his first collection,Pray the Rain Never Ends.

Knowing there was something deeper and darker inside of his soul, Joel decided to take a stab at commercialism. Releasing the dark tongue in cheek, A Death at the North Pole, created a dark world among the death of Kris Kringle. Ultimately providing a tale of redemption.
October of 2008 saw Joel release his second book, Kill 4 Me. A tale in which a woman is haunted by a vengeful spirit through text messages and instant messaging.

Taking some time off and doing a lot of soul searching, Joel took things in a new direction and dabbled in the Fantasy Genre with, The Pentacle of Light. The tale dealing with five major races battling for control of Earth, and the acceptance of their God.
Finally, after missing his detective Lauren Bruni, he released the book The Return in October 2009, this time moving the action from the North Pole and placing it in the small Arizona community he was raised in.

Andre’s latest book is The Black Chronicles: Cry of the Fallen about a dead man who seeks revenge on the woman that tormented him in peaceful Northern Arizona.

Currently, he resides in Chandler, AZ.
