My Review:
Susan May Warren is back with another wonderfully written, deeply detailed novel! This time, she brings us an addition to another great collection, When I Fall In Love. Ms. Warren brings us a story of heartache, loss,happiness, longing and devotion in the form of a magnificent Christmas story!
Baby, It’s Cold Outsidebrings us to the late 1940’s, and to a group of lonely hearts who are snowed in during a terrible blizzard. Dottie Morgan has suffered great loss, the death of her son during the war, and she really doesn’t want to celebrate this Christmas with out him. It’s a terrible feeling of loss, and I personally felt the heartache she was going through. But, then a visit from Violet, a mysterious stranger, and her old love (who just happens to be her neighbor!)Gordy, change Dottie’s grumpy, unhappy plans upside down.
While these 4 people are stranded in Dottie’s beautiful home,in the aftermaths of WWII, they learn the meaning of rich, heartfelt faith. Deep, moving love of God. They learn the powerful of forgiveness, the TRUE meaning of the season. They learn that with God, nothing is impossible, and everything is worthy of happiness.
I absolutely loved the setting for this story. Small town Minnesota during a snow storm at my favorite time of the year! I could feel myself transported to the heart of the town. I sat among these wonderful, lovable characters and become one of them. It is truly a 5 Book worthy story and PERFECT for curling up by the fireplace during a winter snowstorm! I highly recommend that you get a copy of this book, and be transported to a cold, winterized town in Minnesota, make some amazing new friends and fall in love with Susan May Warren’s work!
