About the Book:
All she wanted was a simple Amish life . . . But now Marianna Sommer finds herself depending on Englisch neighbors. Although proud of living apart from the world, she and her newly relocated Amish family have discovered that life in the remote mountains of Montana requires working together.

As Marianna begins helping those different from herself—and receiving their help—her heart contemplates two directions. She’s torn between the Amish man from Indiana whom she has long planned on marrying and the friendly Englischer who models a closer walk with God than she’s ever seen before.

Who should have young Marianna’s heart? What is God asking her to sacrifice? Her traditions? Her community? The answer is found along the wooded paths.

My Review:
Another wonderful book by Tricia Goyer AND a wonderful addition to the Amish genre! I truly loved how this book was laid out. It blended the perfect amount of Amish with English, the perfect amount of moving on from the past with finding a love that’s meant to be, and relying on God to help you through it all. Tricia Goyer has a talent that allows her to write in ANY genre and succeed.

Along Wooded Paths is book 2 in the Big Sky series. In this one, we have Marianna story. I won’t go into detail to much because I will surly give away the plot. I will say this Marianna’s character is well portrayed through the novel. After her brother falls in love with an Englisher, her issue of wanting nothing more than to live her life peacefully and simply, becomes complicated when her parents move her and their family to Big Sky country.

Once in Big Sky country she finds things are so much different there….the Amish interact with the English like they’ve done so all their lives. That’s where she meets Ben. I truly LOVED Ben’s character. My heart went out to him on numerous occasions through out the book. But, Marianna’s new feelings for this new friend, Ben, becomes an even bigger issue. He’s English.

I absolutely loved the way Tricia played this story out. God’s message of sacrifice, reliance, hope and forever love, shines through each page, and really helps to the capture the readers heart. If you are a fan of Amish fiction, then this is most definitely one that I would recommend you read. You’ll fall in love with not only Tricia’s work, or the amazing characters, but also with Big Sky country. Definitely a 5 Book worthy read and I can’t wait for 2012 to get here for the 3rd installment!
