About The Book:
She is staking her future on a man she’s never met. Can she learn to love him?

When Catharine Olsen leaves Holland for Wyoming as a mail-order bride, she brings some extra baggage with her: two sisters, her mother’s set of Blue Willow china, and a tragic past. As she steps off the train, Peter Andersen is glad to see that she is everything her letters showed her to be. But he is a bit perturbed by her unexpected companions. How will he support them all? And what other secrets might Catharine be keeping from him?

Filled with sweet romance and vivid characters, Deeply Devoted highlights a clash of cultures as a highborn European and a simple wheat farmer learn to love one another and trust God with the past–and the future.

My Review:
I really enjoy the work of Maggie Brendan. I got started on her work when I participated in the blog tour for The Jewel of His Heart. So, I was excited to have the chance to review her newest book in her newest series. Wow! It was certainly a wonderful ride!

Deeply Devoted is a mail-order bride story about Catharine Olsen. She comes to America after having a round of correspondence with Peter Anderson, the farmer who she agreed to marry. But, she has a secret that she hopes he’ll over look…..along with the china, she’s bringing her sisters.

Peter Anderson was a wonderful character. He’s a man I would like to know if real life! He’s carrying, he’s lovable and he’s a downright wonderfully chiseled character and fit his role perfectly. He’s sure that marrying Catharine is the right thing to do, so he sets out making his home a home for her, too. When he finally meets her face to face, well, there’s not one woman from Holland that he sent for….there’s THREE. He’s determined to make it work though.

But, as Catharine and Peter get to know one another better, secrets from the past arise and test the faith of both young people. Only One can pull them through this TOGETHER and that’s God. Can they devote themselves to each other that deeply? Or, will the past tear them apart?

I really enjoyed this story. It’s a whirl wind story of strength, hope, love and devotion. A story of trusting in God to help overcome any battle. The start of a fresh new series, this is a highly engaging and captivating story. I definitely recommend this with 4 Books, and can’t wait for book 2 in the Blue Willow Brides series. I am anxious to see what Ms. Brendan has in store for Catharine’s sisters!
