My Review:
Susan May Warren has once again brought her readers another OUTSTANDINGLY magnificent story. Set in the gilded age, this is a novel that will sweep you off your feet, and turn you around until you’re dizzy with a smile on your face.
Jinx and Esme are sisters, and daughters of August Price. Told in stories between the two, this book is absolutely beautiful, just like it’s cover. Jinx wanted to be an Heiress and everything that Esme WAS. Esme wanted to be everything she wasn’t. But, unfortunately for them, it didn’t work out that way. Esme wanted true love, and to follow her dream. Jinx, the younger of the two, wanted a rich and wealthy man and attention raveled all on her in the society.
When the chance for Esme to leave and follow her dream of writing for a paper, she jumps on the chance. She leaves everything behind to start over. But will it really be as simple as that? And, can Jinx really accept the high pressure of being an Heiress in a high societal community?
Those are just two of the many questions that these amazing characters answer for the readers. But, among those questions and more, lies the heart of the story: betrayal, passion, mercy, forgiveness, hope and jealous heartache. God’s guiding grace and never ending love seep through the words that Ms. Warren puts to the pages. A story that will leave you breathless, smiling, and aching all in one sitting.
