Posted 15 August, 2011 by Molly(Cover To Cover Cafe) in Book Reviews / 2 Comments

I want to welcome some really awesome and special people to my blog today, Joel M. Andre and Cry of The Fallen’s character, Lauren Bruni! Joel M. Andre is quickly earning himself a space next to Vincent Zandri, my favorite author, so this is a special treat. Welcome to Reviews By Molly, Joel and Lauren!!!

Let’s start the interview off with you, Joel, telling us about the man behind the books. What’s Joel M. Andre like?

Thanks for the warm welcome, Molly. I am told that Joel M. Andre tends to be a very nice guy that can be a little evil in his writing. A considerable amount of the things I do is based on compassion.

What’s your favorite part about being an author?

I enjoy having the chance to write out the stories in my mind. That alone is worth it.

What’s one thing about being an author that, if you could, you would change?

There is nothing I would change about it. If you love what you do, then you really enjoy all the highs and lows that come with it.

Do you have pet peeves as an author?

I do have pet peeves. But I feel like mentioning them only brings out negativity. So, we’ll focus on what I love and that’s a good story.

Who’s your inspiration in the world of authors?

I would say real life inspires me. There will be a moment you sense something and you feel the urge to write surge through your body and you knock out a story.

What’s the worst book you’ve ever read?

I believe every book has merit. So, I won’t single out any book.

When did you write your first book?

I wrote my first published book in 2008. Before that I had written several others that I held on to.

Who, of all your characters that you have created, is your favorite one and why?

Lauren Bruni remains my favorite. She is tough and I just like how snarky she can be. She really is rather fun to write.

Tell us 5 things about Joel M. Andre that your fans would be shocked to know.

1. I hate unicorns and glitter.

2. I rarely leave the home.

3. I love romantic comedies.

4. I am very critical of myself.

5. It really isn’t all about me.

Anything you want to say to your fans?

I think it would be rather presumptuous to assume I have fans. I would say thank you to casual readers and hope that they enjoy some of the tales I have available.

Now, on to Lauren’s interview. Thanks for stopping by with Joel, Lauren, and doing this interview!

Even though you interrupted my vacation, I am doing well. Thanks for letting me speak my mind.

Tell us about Lauren Bruni. What’s it like being you?

Well, I have demonic forces trying to kill me at times. So, I would think being Lauren Bruni is an absolute cake walk.

How about being a cop? Is it all it’s cracked up to be?

Well, many people think that being a cop is fun and flashy since you get to shoot a gun. The truth of the matter is there is a ton of paperwork and dealing with lots of drama. Plus, the pay isn’t all that great for putting your life on the line.

Do you have any pet peeves in the world of being in a book?

Outside of high body counts and people always trying to kill me? I think the world of literature is fun for a character. Although, I think I would rather be cast in a romance rather than horror.

What’s Joel REALLY like?

Joel is a nice guy, when he isn’t sending me into dangerous territory. Seriously, no one should let this guy run the world. Ghouls, Demons, Zombies…the list of evil things he sends out doesn’t end. In real life he might be fine, but for us characters, we want someone nicer who lets us lounge by an ocean that doesn’t have a sea creature waiting to rip the flesh off our bones.

I know you are waiting on Joel to send you on vacation. Is he any closer to sending you anywhere?

Well, I was on an Alaskan Cruise when you called for an interview. I decided I needed more publicity. Hopefully, people will feel bad for me and demand something less traumatic for me.

Where do you hope he sends you on vacation?

I was hoping for Hawaii.

What do you think is Joel’s best quality?

I like the fact that he can be serious one moment and then have this wicked sense of humor come out the next.

How about his WORST quality?

Killing people on paper. Seriously, if I knew what I knew now, I would have waited longer in the literary unemployment line.

Joel has lots of fans. How does this affect you-do you get jealous?

I am okay with all the fans fawning over him. The only people that bother me are the stalkers. He’s had a couple, although they are pretty fun to mock.

(**shhhh….let’s not tell anyone that Lauren’s really talking about me….Michelle V ;)~)

Tell us 5 things about Lauren Bruni that Joel’s fans would be shocked to know.

1. I have appeared in several unpublished books.

2. I hate glitters and unicorns too.

3. I have a sensitive side.

4. I do enjoy coming face to face with evil.

5. I have a love interest.

Anything you want to say to Joel?

Please don’t kill me.

How about to his fans?

I know he loves the fans who interact with him. But none of you will ever replace me.

One more question for Joel…..anything you want to say to your character, Lauren?

When you get back from this interview, a mythological sea creature is going to attack your boat. I told you to play me up.

Thanks,Lauren, for stopping by! Oh and you too, Joel ;~) Can’t wait to see what’s next in store for Joel M. Andre’s fans!
