Author Bio:
Joel M. Andre was born January 13, 1981. At a young age he was fascinated with the written word. It was at fourteen that Poe blew his mind, and Andre began to dabble with darker poetry.
Between the years of 1999 and 2007 Joel was featured in various poetry anthologies and publications. In 2008 he released his first collection,Pray the Rain Never Ends.
Knowing there was something deeper and darker inside of his soul, Joel decided to take a stab at commercialism. Releasing the dark tongue in cheek, A Death at the North Pole, created a dark world among the death of Kris Kringle. Ultimately providing a tale of redemption.
October of 2008 saw Joel release his second book, Kill 4 Me. A tale in which a woman is haunted by a vengeful spirit through text messages and instant messaging.
Taking some time off and doing a lot of soul searching, Joel took things in a new direction and dabbled in the Fantasy Genre with, The Pentacle of Light. The tale dealing with five major races battling for control of Earth, and the acceptance of their God.
Finally, after missing his detective Lauren Bruni, he released the book The Return in October 2009, this time moving the action from the North Pole and placing it in the small Arizona community he was raised in.
Andre’s latest book is The Black Chronicles: Cry of the Fallen about a dead man who seeks revenge on the woman that tormented him in peaceful Northern Arizona.
Currently, he resides in Chandler, AZ.

My Review:
Shhhh…don’t tell Vincent Zandri, but I have another favorite author! His name is Joel M. Andre and WOW! I totally LOVED this book! Joel combines a fantastic type of dark humor, with creepy horror and suspense, and turns out a novel that will hook the reader and leave them looking over their shoulders when their done. (Or, at least, this reader will be doing that!)
Lauren Bruni is a character first introduced in a preview Andre novel, but this is the first one that I’ve read. I loved every bit of her story. A homicide detective in this small Arizona town of Cottonwood, killings start full fledged. And the suspect? Wears cowboy boots. As I read this story, I thought to myself, okay. Now here is a killer I can enjoy (I’m a sucker for cowboy boots!). But, what really hooked me, was all the zombies, and the creep factor of the killings.
I loved the seriousness that Joel gave to Lauren. In her line of work, as a homicide detective, you have no choice but to be serious. Of course, with Lauren, there’s more to her story that makes her serious. That’s a great catching bit to keep me wanting to come back for more.
Not knowing what would happen from page to page, was a fantastic aspect. Each page turn made me sit closer to the edge of my seat, and reading it late at night….well, let’s just say that I kept the light on, and every sound made me jump.
I would really love to see this played out in a movie. I think it would be awesome to see this story on a big screen. Dark, intriguing suspense, creepy humor, fantastically created characters…..a perfect combination for a book that grips me. So much more so than any Stephen King novel, at least in my eyes.
I most definitely recommend this author. With just one book, he has hooked me on his work for life and second to the top of my favorite authors. I will be recommending this novel to every horror fan; to every one who loves an creepy evil story with unforgettable characters. Awesometastic work, Joel! Can’t wait for another Black Chronicle novel!
