Synopsis:
Cat-sitting her great-aunt’s finicky feline offers Nora Bainbridge a rare opportunity to delve into the secrets of the reclusive actress’s younger years. And when a sexy television producer shows up, proposing an episode of Hollywood’s Hottest History based on Aunt Elnora’s off-screen involvement with the mob in Tinseltown, the past starts looking a lot more interesting.

Raised on a steady diet of 1940s films by his mob boss grandfather, the only upside FBI agent Luke McKinnon can see in his current undercover assignment is he’ll get to meet one of the film stars he reveres. The downside is he’s looking for something he doesn’t want to find—evidence that Elnora Bainbridge is involved in trafficking stolen art. A totally unexpected perk is discovering Elnora has a look-alike namesake whose curiosity about her aunt’s wild life drags them into a lot of Family Business.

My Review:
Awesome! Emily McKee is a new-to-me author and one whom I won’t soon be forgetting. I loved this book and it’s writing style. She has mad author skills and can create a novel that has so many aspects to it: romance, suspense, humor, friendship, and so much more. I truly had a fantastic time reading this book, and it certainly kept me up late into the night turning the pages. I just HAD to know what was happening next in the story and in the characters’ lives.

FAMILY BUSINESS is a story about just that: family business. Not your typical family business, either. Elnora “Nora” Bainbridge is a 20-something college graduate working as a loan officer in a bank down the road from her great aunt’s mansion. This great aunt is none other than the famous Elnora Bainbridge (whom Nora was named after) of the 1940’s Hollywood scene, who can’t even get Nora’s name right.

So, Nora laughs it off when she gets a call from her father telling her that Elnora fell and broke her leg and needs someone to take care of Mr. Witherby. What Nora wasn’t expecting was all the suspense of the family business (and all the mobs and organized crime!) and just what it is. Or to meet Luke McKinnon, TV Producer (or so she thinks!) in search of interviewing his favorite actress. After all, Nora isn’t good at attracting good guys. And that’s just what she feels the minute she meets Luke….sparks flying, hot attraction.

I’ll stop there. I don’t give away spoilers. I will tell you that I loved all these characters. Luke was exactly what Nora said: hot, hunky and dreamy. Nora was a sweet woman just trying to overcome a bad divorce. Put those two together and the passion is undeniable! Add into the mix, the page turning, roller coaster twists and WOW! One HOT business!

I highly recommend this novel to all. Whether you love passion filled stories, suspenseful twists and turns, or a laugh out loud experience, then this 4-Book, two thumbs up and awesomely written novel is perfect for you. You’ll fall in love with Emily McKee’s work and be fan for life!
