About the Book:
What does it take to build a great dad?
Men like to build things. We like to take parts and put them together to make a whole. Did you know that this do-it-yourself talent can help you become a great dad?
In his fresh, humorous style, Todd Cartmell takes you on an action-packed journey to help you become the dad God made you to be and that your kids hope you will be. You will learn the five key areas that every great dad needs to renovate, including how you look at, talk to, connect with, act toward, and lead your children.
Cartmell shows you that you already have the raw materials at your disposal, then gives you the blueprint for putting them together. Begin your Project Dad today. Your family will never be the same.
Todd Cartmell is a licensed clinical psychologist and a father of two. He is in full-time private practice in Wheaton, Illinois, where he works exclusively with children, adolescents, and families. He conducts parenting workshops across the country and is the author of Respectful Kids. Visit Todd’s website at www.drtodd.net.
True to it’s description, this book is a fun, do-it-yourself guide to becoming a great dad. I’m not a dad (or, rather, someones playing a MEAN trick on me and my kids if I am one!) but I can totally agree with the things that Cartmell said in this book. His unique “guide” to fatherhood is a must have for all dads out there. Five stars and 2 thumbs up to a laugh-out-loud ( I laughed til I cried!), hit-it-home awesome book for dads, both new and old.
As part of this tour, I was asked to tell what I thought makes up a great dad. I had to think on this one because there isn’t any ONE thing that makes my dad great. He isn’t perfect, by any means. No, he’s far from it, in fact. But for 30 years, he’s always been there, always loving, always supportive. A great dad will share his childhood memories with you, he’ll tell you when you’re wrong, he’ll tell you when you’re right. He’ll be a constant that you can rely on always. Those are just a few of the things that make MY dad a great dad.
Project Dad is a humorous and practical guide book written by a dad to other dads. Todd Cartmell’s warm and engaging style will have fathers laughing from the first few pages, and gives doable hands-on advice for becoming a better dad. This book will make an excellent Father’s Day gift!
