About the Book:
As a seed awaits the spring sunshine, so one young woman hopes for a brighter tomorrow.

Harriet Kirk is certain that becoming the new schoolteacher in Ladreville, Texas, is just what she needs–a chance to put the past behind her and give her younger siblings a brighter tomorrow. What she didn’t count on was the presence of handsome former Texas Ranger Lawrence Wood–or the way he affects her fragile heart. But can Harriet and Lawrence ever truly conquer the past in order to find happiness?

Book 3 in the Texas Dreams series, Tomorrow’s Garden is a powerful story of overcoming the odds and grabbing hold of happiness.

My Review:
I really enjoyed reading Scattered Petals, book 2 in Texas Dreams, last year, so I was super anxious for this book to release. However, upon reading this one, I felt that the beginning was a little too slow for me. I did push through that beginning, and by half way through, was so engrossed in the history and sweet characters, that I forgot all about that slow beginning and fell in love with Texas all over again. Ms. Cabott has a tender skill for writing a novel that includes not only amazing characters that life-like, some bits of humor and love, but also for including the wonderful messages of God’s redeeming love and grace.

Harriet’s sweet character really caught my eye the most. She was such a tender and loving sister and school teacher. She was the highlight of the novel and I felt a mothering pull to her, as I wanted to wrap her in a big hug more often than not! She was trying to escape her past and make a new life for her and her siblings, but she’s afraid it will catch up to her. And let’s not even get started on Lawrence….hmmm. Now THAT is one character I don’t know what to think on!  I loved his handsome character, don’t get me wrong. But when there was a gem of a girl right in front of him (Harriet) I wanted to shout at him to “open your eyes!”. He at times had me laughing to myself thinking this is one man that was perfect for his role as sheriff of Ladreville. Definitely a  man  that I would want to see in more books like this!

Not only were we introduced to these sweet characters, we got to visit with other characters from the previous books, particularly Isabelle. Isabelle is perfect for her role in this book, as well as the previous ones. She’s a character that one can become friends with quickly and always feel at home with.

Amanda Cabott is a seasoned author, for sure, and one that I am highly glad to say is amongst my many favorite authors list. I give Tomorrow’s Garden 4 stars, high recommendations for that sweet, suspenseful, God filled love story that’s perfect for that rainy day spring time read. If you are reader who loves history, suspense and charming towns filled with welcoming characters, then grab a copy of Tomorrow’s Garden today! You’ll fall in love with the novels and the author and be anxious for each new Cabott release!
