Paulette’s Post:
When I decided to pursue my writing career, I knew of no other author who could guide me through the process. Those I expressed my aspirations with looked at me with disbelief. Although, they may not have openly questioned my goals, I knew in the back of their minds they questioned my success. It was the kind of disbelief that whispered “oh yeah, we’ve heard that before!” I never allowed their disbelief to influence the direction I believed God was taking me.
My story is different from many writers; I didn’t grow up with the aspiration to become a professional writer. On the contrary, I just wanted to get married, have children, and do the work of God.
As a child, I didn’t know anything about becoming a celebrity. I knew just enough to realize that those on TV and radio did something to impact lives. The common bond the celebrities shared was that they knew how to connect with people; they had something people wanted, and they knew how to reach the people to meet their needs.
When God spoke to my heart about writing, I knew He wanted me to write inspirational booksbooks that encouraged, motivated and led readers towards a closer walk with Him. With that being my vision, my writing career began.
During my writing career, I have had my share of questions poised by aspiring authors. Many of those aspiring authors didn’t know what the next steps would be after they finished writing their manuscript. With the desire to help educate hopeful writers, I established “Write Now” literary workshop. “Write Now” (releasing the word in you) literary workshops is an interactive and intense workshop designed to coach aspiring writers in the areas of creativity, development and publication of Christian books. By way of Write Now, I have been able to share my literary education and experiences with those who believe they are meant to become published authors.
I have a desire for writers especially those who want to write for the Lord. Through these workshops it is my aspiration to provide information that will help aspiring writers dream come to reality, by providing tools, resources and opportunities to help them succeed.
I also devote a lot of time to growing my literary blog entitled: Empowered to Prosper. On this blog I posts quotes, personal points of view, original excerpts, as well as, highlights the works of other Authors. Empowered to Prosper is also a blog tour spot for those seeking more exposure for their new literary work. A lot of my featured guests have been Essence best sellers, poets as well as featuring those aspiring writers needing additional assistance with promoting.
Thanks so much for stopping by Paulette!
