About the Book:
Carly Richards is on the run. For the last two years, she’s skipped from town to town, ducking her dangerous and well-informed ex-fiance every few weeks, never settling anywhere for long. With the death of her parents, Carly’s vulnerability made her trust a man with an attractive facade. Now that same man has tracked her across the country, always nipping at her heels, preventing her from reaching out to anyone other than her God. Now she’s in Montana, and surely that is far enough away from Texas and her abusive past that she can rest. But her emotional scars are reluctant to heal, and Carly resists the friendliness of those in the small town she lights upon, especially handsome farmer Joe Baird. Without a car and money though, she has little choice but to dig in and begin building back up her savings so she can run once more.

Caught in the circumstances, the kind people around her begin to creep into her softening heart. God is at work, and she has to trust him to not only take care of her, but care for the the people she is learning to love. Carly must learn the Price of Trust.

About the Author:

I’m a stay at home, home schooling mother and author who loves to do MANY different things. Be it playing baseball with my family or church group, to canoeing down the river, to sewing and embroidering, I find many things pique my interest. But my passion is writing. I’ve always loved to write stories, adventure, mystery, and romance, but I would hide them away so no one would read them. However, at the prodding of my husband, I submitted my first novel, The Price of Trust, to a publisher. It was accepted and released May 18th, 2010.

As of right now, I’ve written two other romance novels, and am currently working on my fourth.

My Review:
A great debut! I have been reading a lot more debut novels lately, and it seems that with each one these authors have a talent beyond words. They write it so well and with the hand that is like a long seasoned author. It is no different with Amanda Stephan’s novel. I was VERY pleased with her work.
In The Price of Trust, we meet Carly, a young woman on the run, who doesn’t trust easy and who is having a bit of bad luck, getting stranded in a new town. But, through the AMAZING characters and a wonderful plot, Carly opens her heart to those around her, while realizing, with God as the center of things, the price of trust is easy in this town. But, along with learning to trust, Carly has a secret….one that could put a damper on her progress of trusting.
I loved the humor, the love, the secrets, and the message of relying on God, trusting in God, even when things don’t go your way. Even in a tough, troubled spot, He will ALWAYS be there for you, if you just trust and believe in him. All of that, combined with the combination of a loving town and friendly characters, really gripped me and pulled me in.
I HIGHLY recommend this debut. It will leave you in awe that this book is a debut novel. It big on faith and HUGE on captivating the reader! No doubt, this 4 star novel will bring this author lots of high praises! It is easy to read when your captivate…I read this book in less than two days! Well done, Amanda!
