About the Book:
In the heartwarming tradition of Richard Paul Evans’s The Christmas Box, this timeless story will inspire all generations.

With the whole family convened for holiday festivities, Grandpa speaks from his heart to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. “This may be the last Christmas I get to spend with each of you, so I want to give each of you a letter.” The nine envelopes Grandpa hands to his family each contain a personal story of how they brought joy to him, and a life lesson that not only speaks to them but moves readers to reflect on the ways their lives have been touched by their loved ones.

My Review:
Christmas is, and always will be, my favorite time of the year. Along with it comes family and love, and, of course, Christmas books! Especially ones like this one. My mom knows I love books and I love Christmas so I was super excited when she purchased this book for me! Turns out, this small, super quick read is POWERFUL!

Through very special Christmas letters “grandpa” shows the meaning of Christmas. It’s not about giving or receiving gifts, as we so often center Christmas around in the excitement of the holidays, but about the people in our lives and the simple things that mean they do or say, that often go unnoticed. It’s those simple, unnoticed things that mean the most, especially at Christmas. Through the letters of Christmas, “grandpa” told each of his family members just what simple things they do for him, someone who might not be around for the next Christmas, and how much it meant to him. But, “grandpa” used one more EXTRA SPECIAL letter: J. Everyone in this book was trying to guess what simple thing it was for….Jolly Old St. Nick? After all, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without him, right?

Well, let me stop right there and say that you MUST get a copy of this 5 star book. It’s small, and easily read and would make a wonderful, life changing, thought provoking Christmas story tradition for every family. This is one book I’ll be reading with my sons year after year! With this book, you’ll need a tissue or two….or three….while you come to appreciate the simplest and most wonderful meaning of Christmas in a whole new way.
