About the Book:
What adventures are waiting for Miya as she walks to the forest to feed the animals?

An angry squirrel, a gentle crow, and an intimidating owl are just some of the interesting characters Miya meets in the forest. The animals are concerned about the environmental impact the humans have on their forest. It’s up to Miya to deliver this message to the villagers.

But can she be convincing enough?

While reading this beautifully illustrated story, children will be silently rooting for Miya as she tries to support her new animal friends. They will be so captivated by Miya’s adventures, young readers will not realize they are learning lessons in helping others, standing up for their beliefs, conquering their fears, and caring for the environment.

My Review:
I was quite pleased with this children’s book. Having two young sons under the age of 10, I’m always excited to be able to review a kid’s book. This is another awesome one to add to the collection.

In A Winter’s Solstice, Didi LeMay makes an easily read story for children into a wonderful learning experience. Through beautifully done illustrations that catch the eye, and words that are easily understood by young listeners, children learn about celebrating their planet and sharing it with the animals in the surrounding nature. With an obvious passion for reaching her young readers, Didi captures the reader, young and old alike, instantly with this sweet tale.

This is a definite 5 star book, that I highly recommend to all who have young children or who know someone with young children. It is both educating and entertaining, and full of fun, vibrant pictures that will keep the readers hooked until the end.
