Someone to Blame
by C.S. Lakin

This month, CFRB presents Someone to Blame by C.S. Lakin .

About the Book:
A heartrending yet hope-inspiring story of a family that seeks to find solace in a small coastal community after the death of their two teenage sons, but runs headlong into trouble in a town eager to find someone to blame for the rash of crimes following a young drifter’s wake.

About the Author:
Susanne Lakin grew up collating television scripts for her mother, a screenwriter, story editor, and producer for television. As an adult, Susanne assisted in developing series for television, and while raising two daughters and running a bed and breakfast inn in northern California, wrote her first three novels and a cookbook. She currently works as a freelance copy editor and writing mentor, specializing in helping authors prepare their books for publication. If she didn’t spend all her time writing and copyediting, she would be sixty feet underwater, taking photographs, or backpacking in the Trinty Alps with her dog, Sweetie. She confesses to a serious chocolate addiction, which she shares with her husband of twenty-six years, Lee Miller. Together they also share a deep love for God and gratitude for their savior, Jesus Christ.

Purchase Someone to Blame from
Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
My Review:
Wow! Another wonderful book that I honestly wasn’t sure I was going to like. I read the description and thought, it might not be the best but I believe every book deserves a chance at being read and THEN the decision of liking or not liking being made. And sometimes, like with this one, I find that I am highly glad that I took the time to read the book because it was so much better than I thought!

C.S. Laskin is talented. Highly talented. She has the ability to grip each of her readers and twist their hearts with the emotions and doesn’t let them go until the last page of the story. Utterly fantastic! With Someone to Blame, you get an incredible inside look at Irene, Matt and Casey’s family. They are already in heartache and pain, so when they move to a new town in California that has some questionable things happening, did they make the right choice? And the ever growing and even bigger question is this: who is to blame for all that is going on?? I was up late into the night, turning page after page of this fascinating novel. I felt all the turmoil this young family felt and all the edge-of-your seat mystery of the town as I felt like I was in that town looking for someone to blame, too. The wonderful Christian elements of the story are woven deep between the lines, the messages of grace and forgiveness and not placing blame on someone, when NO one is perfect. Definitely glad I read this novel!

After reading this novel, I went to C.S. Laskin’s website and there are some other books by her that looked absolutely phenomenal and I will definitely be looking for more work by this fabulous lady! Someone to Blame is 4 star worthy among high recommendations to everyone!
