About the Book:

She went looking for adventure . . . and found more than she bargained for.
Kate Evans is an adventurous and independent young woman with a pioneering spirit. When she leaves her home in Washington State to follow her dream of being an Alaskan bush pilot, she knows it will be an uphill battle. But she never expected it to be quite like this. As the lone woman in a man’s world, she finds that contending with people’s expectations is almost as treacherous as navigating the wild arctic storms.
When she crosses paths with a mysterious man living alone in the forbidding wilderness, she faces a new challenge.
Can Kate break through the walls he has put up around his heart? And will fear keep her from realizing her dreams?
Book 1 in the Alaskan Skies series, Touching the Clouds will draw you in with raw emotion and suspense, all against the stunning backdrop of the Alaskan wilds.
About the Author:

My Review:
I always believe in giving my honest opinion in books and I will do no less with this book. It is wonderfully written by Bonnie Leon, a gifted and talented author. However, while this was a unique start to an interesting new series, I found that it was a bit too slow for my tastes. Definitely not a “relaxing”  read. The plot and characters blend well together, but I think I was expecting something more fast-paced and adventurous when I read the blurb of Kate being a bush pilot.

But, all that being said, Leon did a fantastic job with building a plot of always following your dreams, never just settling. With Kate, Paul and even Mike, adding some serious depth to the story, Leon shows her ability to take a character and detail them so much that it’s like you’ve always known them. With all the people in this  novel learning to let go, move on, praying and trusting in God, it adds a great Christian message.

Back to the beginning of my review. Honesty. I give this book 4 stars for a unique and interesting story, and because it is sure to appease the reading appetite of people who enjoy a more serious, slower type story. However, as well written as it was, it was a bit too slow for me to fully 100 percent enjoy this story. I will be looking for book 2 in this series to release, in hopes that Kate’s story is continued with a little more adventure this time!
