About the Book:

The prom countdown has begun.
Daisy Crispin has 196 days to find the right date for the prom. There’s only one problem–her parents won’t let her date or even talk to a guy on the phone. Oh, and she’s totally invisible at school, wears lame homemade clothes, and possesses no social skills. Okay, so maybe there’s more than one problem.
Can she talk her parents into letting her go to the prom? Or will they succeed at their obvious attempts to completely ruin her life?

Perfectly Dateless is hilarious, shocking, and totally real. You’ll fall in love with Daisy’s sharp wit and resourcefulness as she navigates the world of boys, fashion, family, and friendship.

My Review:
If you want a break from a hectic life, I suggest you sit back, relax, and dive into Billerbeck’s Perfectly Dateless. It’s a sassy and hilarious YA novel. Yes, I said it: YA novel. But it’s a YA novel that reads like a wonderfully witty and funny adult novel that leave you laughing! It’s full of fun and craziness as you feel Daisy’s trials. They become real to the reader. I laughed and smiled so much that my cheeks started hurting!

Daisy what some call a “geek” as she struggles with wanting to be normal, dealing with strict parents and being Miss Perfectionist in an imperfect world. And all she wants is a date for her senior prom. I totally relate with Daisy on every level of issues she deals with (except perfection!) as I was a VERY unpopular teen years ago and didn’t get to go to the one thing I wanted more than anything: my senior prom. I felt all of her pain and embarrassment of “fitting in” when you just aren’t normal! But through it all, Daisy did the one thing that I didn’t do…she held on to her faith.

I really think this is an awesome book for teens and adults alike. Five stars and nothing less for this laugh-out-loud funny and inspirational new book by an author who has tremendous skills! Well done, Billerbeck, and I’ll be looking forward to many more laugh-out-loud books!
