AND NOW…THE FIRST CHAPTER:

My Review:
When I receive a book for review, I am always reminded to to give an HONEST review which is what I always do. More often than not you will find that I have really enjoyed a book and recommend it. However, my review of The Ark is both a negative and a positive one. I know that may sound crazy but it’s honest. I both enjoyed this book but was put out with it at the same time for a few reasons. So, thus begins my honest review.

When we think of a story having a plot line of finding Noah’s Ark (or just simply Noah’s Ark at all), we think Christian. Or, atleast, that is what I think. And that is what I thought when I was introduced to this book for a possible review. The description lead me to believe it was a good, clean Christian thriller novel. But upon reading the story, I didn’t find it to be very Christian. Yes, it is a story of finding Noah’s Ark, but there is cursing and there is talk of women being sexy and things of that nature. I also found that there really wasn’t a Christian message in it either. It did talk of certain things from the Bible but there were now verses qouted nor was there any talk of going to churches or living for God. This was were the negative part of my review came in.

Now, for the positive. The author has extreme talent for writing an intriguing thriller. If this book would have been dubbed a general thriller instead of a Christian thriller, I don’t think that my review would have any negative thoughts to it. I would have come into this story with the knowledge that it’s not a Christian book and would have been pleased with everything,as I would have known what to expect. Because,I will say that I am able to over look the cursing, and the book then reads easily and I found myself wanting to find out what happened and unable to put the book down. It had the fast pace thrills of a great suspense novel.

So, if you are looking for a good ,clean, Christian suspense/thriller novel, this is NOT the book for you. But if you love any kind of fictional suspense/thriller and the fast paced action of figuring out the mystery, then I highly recommend you read this 4 star book. It is written by, again, a talented author. Just don’t think it’s Christian by the title and description! You will be disappointed if you do.
