ABOUT THE BOOK

Dowryless and desperate, Tressa Neill applies to the inaugural class of Wyatt Herdsman School in Barnett, Kansas, in 1888. The school’s one-of-a-kind program teaches young women from the East the skills needed to become a rancher–or the wife of one.

Shy and small for her twenty-two years, Tressa is convinced she’ll never have what it takes to survive Hattie Wyatt’s hands-on instruction in skills such as milking a cow, branding a calf, riding a horse, and cooking up a mess of grub for hungry ranch hands. But what other options does she have?

Abel Samms wants nothing to do with the group of potential brides his neighbor brought to town. He was smitten with an eastern girl once–and he got his heart broken. But there’s something about quiet Tressa and her bumbling ways that makes him take notice.

When Tressa’s life is endangered, will Abel risk his own life–and his heart–to help this eastern girl?

My Review:
I have read many Kim Vogel Sawyer novels over the past year, so I knew I wanted to read A Hopeful Heart. I am truly glad I did, as I was not disappointed with her riveting work!

With A Hopeful Heart, I was captured and held from beginning to end. It was a sweet, inspiring read, written by an author who is at the top of my favorite list. The move of God through out this book is awe inspiring. I love the feeling I get when I open a Sawyer novel and become engrossed throughout the pages. It’s a feeling of belonging and home, and warmness!

In A Hopeful Heart, Sawyer introduces us to Tressa Neil, a young woman who struggles with forgiveness, and to Abel, a young man struggling with much of the same. Reading the story about Tressa and Abel, was both humorous and serious all at the same time. Kim creates a story that comes to life before you and you feel a part of that history and a part of Tressa and Abel’s lives.

If you are a Kim Vogel Sawyer fan, then you will love this new historical by this amazingly sweet lady. If you are new to Kim Vogel Sawyer books, then I hope you check out her work, starting with A Hopeful Heart. She will not disappoint you at all and will take you on an amazing adventure with her charming historical novels, or her modern day novels too! This book is well above a 5 star praise and   the author gets tons of kudos from me!
