About the Book:
Leah Thornton’s life, like her Southern Living home, has great curb appeal. But a paralyzing encounter with a can of frozen apple juice in the supermarket shatters the façade, forcing her to admit that all is not as it appears. When her best friend gets in Leah’s face about her reliance on alcohol to avoid dealing with her life, Leah must make an agonizing choice. Seek help against her husband’s wishes? Or—put herself first for once? Joy and sadness converge and unwelcome insights intrude, testing Leah’s commitment to sobriety, her marriage, her motherhood, and her faith.

My Review:
Amazing. That’s how I describe this wonderfully written debut novel by Christa Allan. It really pulled me in from the first page and held me til the last. I was truly a part of this amazing story and was in awe to feel how real this book seemed.
While I have never had to deal with alcoholism in my life, I could still feel a connection with Leah, because of her struggles. I could close my eyes and literally feel a part of Leah and her emotions. I prayed for her through out this whole book! Christa added just enough humor to make this compelling but the amazing part is all the page turning twists, and lessons, that keep you hanging on. Beautifully done!
I truly give this book a 5 star rating. It is one that will open your eyes and touch your heart. I will be adding this to my growing list of high recommendation books and will be singing Christa’s praises to any one who asks about new and talented authors!
