Christy Williams finally has her life on track. She’s putting her past behind her and working hard to build a career as an antiquarian book buyer. But things begin to unravel when a stolen Hemingway first edition is found in her possession, framing her for a crime she didn’t commit. With no one to turn to, she yearns for her estranged younger sister, May, whom she abandoned after their parents’ untimely deaths. Soon, Christy’s fleeing from her shattered dreams, her ex-boyfriend, and God. Could May’s Triple Cross Ranch be the safe haven she’s searching for? Will the sisters realize that each possesses what the other desperately needs before it’s too late?

My Review:
Being an only child I can’t relate too well with the characters in this book, but the author does a WONDERFUL job at writing a compelling story about two sisters who are not close, but find their way back to each other. I was completely captured by this dramatic story from the start. The author’s talent is amazing. The detail and research that was put into this story was absolutely fantastic. She went from one sister’s story of struggling with life problems and being a book shopper for an antique bookstore(which by the way, would be my DREAM job!) straight in the other sister’s story of also struggling with life problems, however, in a different way, as she works on a farm. She switched from each sister’s story with wonderful ease, and didn’t make it jumpy like a lot of stories can do. C.J. Darlington adds mysterious twists to the plot making it a thrilling book that you don’t want to put down! A powerful story of forgiveness and family and page turning events. Add God to the mix and WOW! You have a wonderful book that is sure to make it’s way to number 1 on the best seller’s list and the kind of book that would make a box office hit if it was turned into a movie. I definitely will give this debut novel and it’s author a 5 star rating. Anything less than 5 stars would just not cut it! I highly recommend this read, especially if you want a book that is filled not only with faith and trusting in God, but also with forgiveness, twists, compelling characters that make their way into your hearts to stay. A book that is perfect for those cold days by the fire place,so go to one of the links mentioned above and grab your copy now!
