This childrens book is one that you will need to use tissues with when reading it. A great childrens book, yes, but it’s also good for those of us who are parents. Karen Kingsbury tells of what it’s like to remember the last things in your child’s life instead of all the firsts we all almost always gush about. She captures the little moments that are most often forgotten, like the last time we held their bottle, or the last time we held their hands when they learned to walk.
When I read this book, I cried. I cried because I had to think, really think, about the “lasts” of my children’s childhoods. It was something that was hard for me to do because I was always more concerned with their “firsts”. But Ms. Kingsbury showed me that even the lasts should be held onto because they grow up fast and won’t need mommy to hold them longer.
While this is a truly wonderful childrens read to show children the love, it’s perfect for opening the adult’s eyes to cherish EVERY moment their children.
Highly recommended!!!!
