We’re brought back to Cody Gunner’s story but this time we get to meet his brother Carl Joseph-a young man battling downs syndrome. In this novel, Cody doesn’t want to send Carl Joseph into a cruel and harsh world. But Carl Joseph’s teacher, Elle, feels he should experience his chance at independence. As Cody, the one who’s supposed to protect Carl Joseph, and Elle bump heads, can they ignore the lesson that Carl Joseph is trying to teach them-that the answer is just beyond the clouds? Can they look up and see the clouds and that Carl Joseph is right-the answer they both need is just beyond the clouds?
You CAN NOT get through this terrific read with out the water works springing leaks! It is well worth it however, when you can sit back and see your “family” in the pages of the book, learning lessons, loving and having faith. Ms. Kingsbury’s talent is like that of no other. She can use the power of God in her words and speak to the heart in the best way. I truly hated to see this book come to an end, but I know that if I look up in the clouds, I will see Cody, Elle and Carl Joseph right there with me.
Two thumbs up for a tear-jerking, heart capturer!!!
